The Agatha Knights are one of two major factions. The Knights are the soldiers who are still loyal to Danum Argon, King Alfonso Argon's nephew. They fight Malric and the Mason Order, hoping to keep peace and stability within Agatha, even by being away from home to protect the peace against a supposed distant threat like Tenosia. The Agatha Knights are also known as "loyalists", and are made up of mostly royalty and nobility, people who once owned most of the lands and peasants before civil war, and who are distraught by the war at home's effect on trade and matters of economy. Late in the war, however, King Danum used the growing might of the army to persuade many peasants and barbarians to take up arms against the Masons. The Agatha Knights believe in the concepts of nobility and being just in one's actions, though greed and corruption exists within those with power. On the battlefield, to people who put their own lives over all suffering, it might seem, that Agatha Knights bring the notion of honor and chivalry to the extent of losing logic and reason. Many men who agree with their ideals and have been driven away by the Mason's ferocity against peasants have joined Agathian levies along with the knights and nobility.

The Knights are led by two people; Steward Feydrid Kearn, who ruled the realm in place of Danum Argon while he was on the battlefield, and the aforementioned Danum Argon, rightful King of Agatha. As well, Sir Finnian Guld and Feydrid command the army, with Finnian becoming General of the Army if Feydrid is killed in the Battle of Stoneshill.

Key Characters

King Argon I

The grand unifier, King Argon the First, by his steel and charisma, with his hardy warriors of the north, he made all other rulers bend the knee and recognize his sovereignty over the realms. Yet his ambition would be his undoing, for soon after unifying the lands he grew restless with the peace and declared a crusade upon the strange heretical lands to the south. Argon fell bravely in combat in those harsh desert sands, leaving behind a great kingdom as his legacy.

First Advisor to, and long time friend of former King Alfonso Argon.

Touted as the greatest knight in the Agathian Army (and thus the known world), Feydrid Kearn is a man who comes from a long line of mighty warriors. His skill on the battlefield has earned him an immaculate reputation. After the Mason Order uprising, Feydrid took up the title of Stewart, and vowed to clear the land of Agatha of all followers of the Mason Order. His cause centers on ensuring the late King Alfonso Argon's work was not for nothing and that the lands of Agatha remain united. His new duty as Stewart to the late King Alfonso Argon is to find the next rightful successor to the throne. He has recently voiced support for the Nephew of Alfonso, Danum Argon, claiming that he is the rightful heir to the throne. Some are skeptical as to why he would support another's claim to the throne when he could easy take the title for himself, but his words and actions show that he has more loyalty to the Argon Family than to power. This is likely due to his friendship with Alfonso Argon before his death.

The Kearn Family have always been held in high regard within Agatha. The chosen residence of their bloodline has been Castle Kearn in The Coldfront for over one-thousand years. House Kearn's colors are Blue with checkerd white, their symbol is a white lion.

Feydrid would meet his end at the battle of Stoneshill. The Mason Order managed to sneak into the Stoneshill valley undiscovered with the aim to end the reign of the Agathian Steward. The Masons slaughtered the peasants and burnt the village to the ground. They breached the mighty gates of the royal palace with a battering ram. Amidst the dust, Feydrid was slain and the Great War ended with the coronation of King Malric Terrowin.

Feydrid was later laid to rest in the Holy City of Galencourt. There, he is worshiped as a saint.

Barek Thorne

A reknowned commander and warrior who fought alongside Feydrid during the first civil war, Barek Thorne was captured and taken prisoner shortly after Feydrid's death. For 20 years he was tortured and displayed, enslaved as a symbol to those who would dare claim their own strength as equal to Malric. For 20 years he endured punishments and spat in the face of the Order from his chains in Falmire.

Arch Precept Gyeoff

The holy personification of the Temple of Light, Arch Precept Gyeoff preaches peacefulness to the faithful, for it is the faithful’s duty to be as pious as the grazing animals and to shepherd non believers into the flock. A life not lived in service to The Light is a life not worth living, a message that a new generation of zealous warriors are prepared to enforce on the wretched.

The Arch Precept presides over the holy monastery at Galencourt, from there his hundred hands deliver his words throughout the kingdom.

The late King of Agatha, and uncle to Danum Argon.

Alfonso Argon was the King of Agatha until 1266. Under his reign, the continent of Agatha was united under the blue and gold, with various feudal fiefdoms and barbarian tribes being conquered and assimilated into the Kingdom. Around the time of 1266, after uniting the continent, King Argon turned his eyes to the foreign land and ancient enemy of Agatha, Tenosia. Shortly after his quest to unite Agatha, he declared a crusade against the Tenosians and embarked with most of his army to the Tenosian mainland, cutting swathes through their territory. However, the deeper they went, the hotter it got, and many of the ill-prepared Agathians died of exhaustion or dehydration due to the scorching desert sun. By the time they laid siege to the capital, Jaburdan, the army was substantially weaker than it was at the beginning of the war. King Argon was killed in battle in late 1266, and command of the Agathian Army fell to Sir Finnian Guld, the Knight Commander. Finnian Guld would lead the Agatha Knights in a search that lasted several months to find the rightful heir to the Throne of Agatha, Danum Argon, the nephew of the now late King Alfonso Argon.

As a result of Alfonso's brashness and bold attempts at conquest, his top General, Malric Terrowin, assembled a small, elite subgroup of Agathian soldiers known as the Mason Order and left Tenosia early. After the attempt at conquering Tenosia, the main force of Agathians returned home to find it had been taken over by the Masons, thus igniting the Agathian Civil War.

King Alfonso Argon is a generally disliked figure, with the peasant's dislike of him shown by their uprising. His nephew, Danum Argon, was the one who fixed all the issues Alfonso had created, and it is usually accepted that he bore most of the responsibility for the discontent that led to the war. Alfonso Argon was also good friends with Agatha's greatest warrior, Feydrid Kearn, who was ordered to remain home for the crusade to act as a Stewart. It is speculated that Alfonso ordered Feydrid, his best soldier, to stay due to jealousy of his fighting prowess , but this can never truly be known with his death.

Danum Argon

Nephew of former King Alfonso Argon.

Danum's mother was Elisabeth Argon, sister to King Alfonso Argon, who died in childbirth on February 3rd, 1247. Danum had always held a hidden resentment for his uncle, mainly due to Alfonso's warmongering. Never the less, he followed his king almost everywhere, showing his loyalty even if he disagreed with Alfonso's goals. He began training as a Knight of Agatha in early 1257, being taught by Sir Finnian Guld. He and Finnian would become great friends over the course of his training, which would benefit the Agatha Knight later during the war with the Mason Order. Danum Argon's relationship with Feydrid Kearn, the Stewart of Agatha, is shaky at best, with Feydrid being a close friend of Alfonso Argon. However, this did not stop Feydrid from declaring loyalty to Danum after Alfonso's death, showing that the Stewart would follow an Argon till death.

House Argon's colors are Blue and Gold, their symbol is a Golden Lion, their words are "Fight for Honor, Live with Honor, Die with Honor".
